Hey! I’m Caden!
Pickleballer, Cat Owner, Picky Eater
The Why?
I grew up being around my mom a lot, and at a certain point, she started picking up a camera. Starting her photography side business when I was just around 6 or 7 and I was very interested in what she was doing.
She used to ask my siblings and me what photos we liked best out of two different edits she did. Begrudgingly, my brothers would answer but I was happy to answer and took an interest. I used to sit on a stool next to the computer with her and watch her edit as she asked for my opinions on each photo.
Photo taken from my mom’s 16th birthday post for me.
That was a big part of it I believe. I never truly picked up a camera until I was 16. And by pick up, I mean I stole my mom’s camera when I went on a trip (she had stopped photography at this point; she didn’t know… love you mom). I grew to love photography slowly over time and kept buying new cameras and would go on hikes with our dog and take photos of her in nature.
Some of my first photos ever taken on the “stolen” camera trip.
And over time I kept taking photos and falling in love with it more and more. I moved to Salt Lake City and started my photography business. Taking photos for friends and then my first paid gigs. At first, I saw other photographers and wanted to be them. Fame and fortune. Then once I started taking photos of others it became less about me and all about them. I wanted to serve others during their biggest moments. Graduations, Maternities, and eventually Engagements and Wedding Days. And now I’m where I’m at now is being very thankful and blessed to capture the most important moments of other’s lives. I look at every couple and customer needing photos as an opportunity to get to know someone and serve them. Every opportunity to serve someone else is my complete joy.
